【摘要】:ThisisaType3TechnicalReport(TR),whichdefinesaframeworkfordetectionofintrusionsinITsystems.Manyclassesofintrusionsareconsidered.Theseincludeintrusionsthatareintentionalorunintentional,legalorillegal,harmfulorharmlessandunauthorizedaccessbyinsidersoroutsiders.TheTRfocuseson:·establishingcommondefinitionsfortermsandconceptsassociatedwithanITintrusiondetectionframework,·describingagenericmodelofintrusiondetection,·providinghighlevelexamplesofattemptstoexploitsystemsvulnerabilities,·discussingcommontypesofinputdataandthesourcesneededforaneffectiveintrusiondetectioncapability,·discussingdifferentmethodsandcombinationsofmethodsofintrusiondetectionanalysis,·describingactivities/actionsinresponsetoindicationsofintrusions.Thisframeworkexplainsintrusiondetectiontermsandconceptsanddescribestherelationshipamongthem.Further,theframeworkaddressespossibleorderingofintrusiondetectiontasksandrelatedactivities.ThisTRprovidesthebasisforacommonunderstandingofintrusiondetection.ThismaterialaimstoassistITmanagerstodeploywithintheirorganizationsIntrusionDetectionSystems(IDS)thatinteractandworktogether.ThisTRshouldfacilitatecollaborationamongorganizationsacrosstheworldwherecollaborationisdesiredand/oressentialtocounterintrusionattempts.Thisframeworkdocumentisnotintendedtocovereverypossibledetailinvolvedinintrusiondetection,suchasdetailedattackpatterns,orstatisticalanomalies,orthemanyconfigurationsthatanIDScouldhave.
