【摘要】:Thisguidesuggestsasimplemeansofevaluatingtheextentofanyfailureofastructuralsealantinaninstalledstructuralsealantglazingsystem.AqualifiedauthorityshouldspecifythecriteriadescribedinSections8and9andshouldinterprettheresultsandjudgetheirsignificanceforthestructuralsealantglazingsystem.Theevaluationprogrammeasuresdeflectionofloadedlitesanddoesnotmeasuredirectlyanystructuralsealantfailure.Consequently,thequalifiedauthorityinterpretingthedatashouldalsoevaluatethesourceofanyincreaseddeflectionthatismeasured.Increaseddeflectionmaybeduetostructuralsealantadhesiveorcohesivefailure,butmayalsobeduetoadecreaseinsealantmodulus,achangeinsealantjointdimensions,orothernonfailuremechanisms.Selectivedestructivesamplingofareaswithincreaseddeflectionscanassistinthisevaluation.1.1Thisguidecoversascreeningapproachtodetectfailure(adhesiveorcohesive)ofastructuralsealantinastructuralsealant-glazedwindow,curtainwall,orothersimilarsystem.Presently,onlyasilicone-sealantthatisspecificallyformulated,tested,andmarketedasastructuralglazingsealantisallowedforstructuralsealantglazing.1.2Thevaluesstatedineitheracceptablemetricunitsorinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.3TherearenoISOstandardssimilarorequivalenttothisASTMstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
